And it’s really because we’ve spent most of our lives trying to rationalize and defend why we feel a certain way.
So even if you aren’t making a personal attack of any kind towards individuals who experience bipolar disorder by just simply expressing your opinion it still feels that way and that’s part of the mental illness. No it’s not rational. That’s part of the illness. I’m lucky enough to be with someone who is patient enough to help me rationalize.
But that’s what y'all need to understand about people on here to say they are bipolar it’s literally saying “hey I’m super defensive and I might get that way and I need your calm reassurance that the world isn’t being an asshole and you’re just trying to help.”
But just saying things to us like “calm down” or “you lashed out a certain way that was wrong” believe us we know ALL of these things and it’s not an excuse for us to be assholes but it’s in the very least an explanation because God knows people who have this mental illness are doing everything in their power to make each day a day that counts and is a happy day as well.
